It is said that, long ago, princess Toyotama-hime winged a letter in the form of an arrow to this islet, longing for her husband and children who were away.

Small park (shokoen) on Masakijima Islet, almost at the center of Agowan Bay. Sunset as viewed from this park is glorious. This splendid scenery, of pearl rafts drawing splash patterns, Goza-misaki Cape and Kishu, can only be enjoyed from Shima City.

This unique character is peculiar to Shima City, where numerous Ise Ebi lobsters can be caught. When you visit Kuroshio Seaside Way, take a photo for sourvenir.

All the way from Dotonbori, Osaka, came this Ise Ebi Lobster Monument, which is 7 m long. This is a beautiful spot in Spring, when its cherries are in full bloom. An excellent place to enjoy cherry blossom viewing and picnicking with sake.
